- # 69 - Homer - Chartered before 1872.
Brevet Brigadier General Willoughby Babcock, USV. Born 1832; lawyer; 1st Lt.
3d NYSV; Lt. Col. 75th NYSV; brevet for bravery at Winchester where he was
mortally wounded in action Sept 19, 1864; died Oct. 6, 1864; buried in Glenwood
Cemetery in Homer. Two other brothers also died in the war - 1st Lt. Willis G.
Babcock, Co. G, 64th NYSV died at Gettysburg, age 20 and another brother died
at a POW camp.
- # 74 - McGrawville - Post charter revoked March 1875.
1st Lt. William B. Shearer, Co. B., 15th NY Cavalry. Joined 3d NY Cavalry at
Syracuse July 1861 as Private, age 24; promoted to 1st Sgt. Feb. 1862, to
supernumerary 2d Lt. Dec., 1862; mustered out May 1863; joined 15th Cavalry as
1st Lt. Aug. 1863; assassinated on a train by guerillas between Parkerburg WV
and Cumberland, MD on July 8, 1864.

Lt. Col. Andrew J. Grover, 76th NYSV. Born 1830 in West Dryden, Tompkins
County, NY; Mexican War veteran;graduated from the Cazenovia Seminary; pastor
of First Methodist Church of Cortland; a Mason; joined 76th at Cortland, Sept.,
1861 as Captain, age 31; two severe wounds at Gainesville, VA on Aug. 28, 1862;
promoted to Major Feb. 1863; KIA July 1, 1863 at Gettysburg; buried in Cortland
Rural Cemetery.

1st Lt. Hiram Clark, Co. G, 185th NYSV. Joined Sept. 1864 at Marathon as 1st
Lt., age 26; KIA April 9, 1865 at Glover Hill, VA; buried at Poplar Grove
National Cemetery, VA, grave #224, section E, division E.
- # 476 - McGrawville - April 26, 1884 to 1919.
2d Lt. William H. Tarbell, Co. E, 76th NYSV. From Freetown, southeast of
McGraw Village; joined Sept. 19, 1861 at Freetown as Corporal, age 21; 1st Sgt.
May, 1863; WIA July 1, 1863 at Gettysburg; 2d Lt. to date Feb 1863; discharged
for wounds Sept. 5, 1864 from General Hospital at York, PA; died Jan. 5, 1874;
buried in McGraw Cemetery; named on a CW monument in that cemetery.
- # 517 - Truxton - Chartered Oct. 1, 1884.
Corporal Volney Baker, Co. H, 157th NYSV. Name given as Valentine Baker
in NYS AGO report; joined Aug. 1862 at Truxton as Corporal, age 22; WIA May 2,
1863 at Chancellorsville, VA; died there of his wounds May 19, 1863.
- # 574 - Scott - Chartered Oct. 24, 1885.

Private Harrison W. Owen, Co. A, 76th NYSV. Enlisted at Virgil Sept. 1861, age
23; KIA at Gainesville, VA, Aug. 28, 1862.
