Charles F. Hammond, capitalist. Made his fortune via phosphate of lime which came from Crown Point mines; father of Col. John Hammond, 5th NY Cavalry; presented his son's entire company with superb Morgan horses.

Private Oakley H. Smith, Co. F, 118th NYSV. Joined Aug., 1862, at Willsboro, age 23; wounded and captured at Drewry's Bluff, VA, on May 16, 1864; died of wounds July 8, 1864, at Richmond, VA.
