shoulder;transported home Oct. 1, 1862 but resumed company command Jan. 26,
1863; ill health compelled his resignation March 16, 1863; elected to NYS
Assembly in 1868; died May 26, 1875.

in 1829; a mason; moved to Kansas in 1857 and published a newspaper in Fort
Scott; "Lincoln appointed him captain and assistant QM in the Army of the
Potomac;" called "Colonel Jones."

Moses Dennis, Revolutionary War veteran. Born 1752; resident of NYC during the
Revolution and allegedly helped to topple King George's statue there during a
riot; put on a prison ship and finally exchanged; "went through the Jerseys
with Washington;" bought a farm in Jasper in 1824; died in 1826.
