1st Sgt. Eugene C. Belden, Co. C, 137th NYSV. Captured at Chancellorsville,
exchanged; KIA, age 20, at the Battle of Peach Tree Creek, GA.
- # 59 - Owego - Nov. 12, 1867 to 1933.
Brevet Brigadier General Willoughby Babcock
, USV. Born in 1832; lawyer; 1st
Lt. 3d NYSV; Lt. Colonel of 75th NYSV; brevet for bravery at Winchester where
he was mortally wounded in action on Sept. 19, 1864; died Oct. 6, 1864; buried
in Glenwood Cemetery, Homer, NY. Two of his brothers also died in the war.
1st Lt. Willis G. Babcock, Co. G, 64th NYSV, died at Gettysburg, age 20, and
another brother died in a POW camp.

Capt. Oscar C. Williams, Co. G, 137th NYSV. Farmer who joined at Binghamton, age
22, 8/27/62 as Captain; KIA at Gettysburg 7/3/63, age 23; buried in Newark
Valley.
- # 251 - Berkshire - 1881 - Nov. 7, 1896.
Sgt. Dufay J. Eastman, Co. G, 137th NYSV. Joined Aug. 1862 at Berkshire as
Corporal, age 18; promoted to Sgt. Dec. 1863; mustered out with regiment June
1865; terribly injured by a falling tree in 1869, completely paralyzed; was a
helpless invalid for more than 6 years, dying 7/3/75; father was Pvt. George W.
Eastman, Co. G, 137th NYSV, who received a disability discharge.

Pvt. Myron H. Dawson, Co. I, 109th NYSV. First Spencer soldier to die in the
war, died of disease.

Sgt. Major Horace Hagerdorn, Co. H, 3d NYSV. Former resident of Halsey Valley;
joined a Private, Co. H, 3d NYSV on 4/21/61; reenlisted at end of term and
promoted to Sgt. Major; KIA in the 1864 assault on Petersburg, VA; buried in
Halsey Valley.

Captain William Warwick, Co. K, 109th NYSV. Joined Aug. 1862 at Nichols as
Captain, age 30; KIA June 17, 1864 at Petersburg, VA.
- # 613 - Apalachin - April 4, 1888 to 1926.
Benjamin Tracy, Esquire. Named for the venerable father of Brevet BG Benjamin
Franklin Tracy; soldier in War of 1812, "conspicuous for his personal courage
and sturdy manliness"; died at an advanced age; buried near the Susquehanna
River.
- # 646 - Owego - Chartered Feb. 17, 1890.
Captain Lewis W. Truesdell, Co. B, 21st NY Cavalry. Joined at Albany Aug. 1863
as 1st Lt. of Co. B, age 34; promoted to Captain of Co. C March 1, 1864; WIA at
Kernstown July 23, 1864; Captain of Co. B Sept. 9, 1865; resigned Feb. 8, 1866.
