Dear Father     I now take the
opportunity of writing a very few lines
to you   Mr ____ is here and is
a going to return home to day so I take
the opportunity to send by him   I
thought I would have you send a little
butter & my boots & vest & what other
things you think best   John Pollock
is sending for a box & I want you to
put my things in with his   John is
in the regt. now   I have not time to
write any more at present   from your
affectionate son
