DEATH OF GEN. BREWSTER.--Yesterday Briga- dier General William R. Brewster died in this city. General Brewster, during the late war, after the promo- tion of General Daniel E. Sickles, commanded the Ex- celsior Brigade. He won honor and distinction in the field. He was a native of Brooklyn, and before the war was connected with "G" Company of the Thirteenth Regiment. Since the close of the war he has been in public life, holding a position in the Internal Revenue Department of the United States.
DIED. BREWSTER.--In Brooklyn, on Monday, Dec. 13, General WILLIAM R. BREWSTER, aged 41 years and 5 months. The relatives and friends of the family, also the mem- bers of the Excelsior Brigade, N.Y.S.V., and mem- bers of New York Lodge No. 330, F. and A.M., are re- spectfully invited to attend the funeral from the Church of the Holy Trinity, corner of Montague and Clinton sts., Brooklyn, on Thursday afternoon, at 2 o'clock. Remains will be interred in Green-Wood.
