Death of a Veteran. BOSTON, April 24.--Brigadier-General William Dwight died in this city Satur- day. He entered the army as Colonel of the Seventh New York Regiment, and at the battle of Williamsburg was left on the field as dead. He was taken prisoner and re- covered from his wounds. He was ap- pointed Brigadier-General December 1, 1862, and served with General Banks in the Department of the Gulf, and with Sheri- dan in the Shenandoah. "Dwight's divis- ion" was a conspicuous feature in the final review at Washington.
