THE FUNERAL OF COL. McMAHON.--The fu- neral of Col. John E. McMahon took place in Buffalo on Sunday afternoon. The obsequies were performed at the Cathedral, the Rt. Rev. Bishop Timen officiating, and pronouncing a touching eulogy on the deceased. The Cathe- dral was crowded to excess, while all the streets through which the procession passed were lined with spectators. The military escort consisted of five companies of the 74th Regiment and two of the 65th Regiment N. G. The members of the Bar of Buffalo and the Catholic Young Men's Association also followed the remains to the grave. Col. Mc- Mahon, who died in Buffalo last week, gradua- ted with honor at Fordham College in 1851, and in 1852 was appointed Private Secretary by Governor Seymour, a position he filled with ability and credit to himself.
