COL. GILBERT G. PREY, who had com- mand of the Wadsworth Guards at the battle of Weldon Railroad in August, 1864, died at his home in Eagle last week Friday,aged 81 years. At the battle spoken of, Col. Prey and many of his regiment were captured and thrown into Libby prison, where they remained until liberated by a general exchange of prison- ers in February, 1865.
