 Gen. James Clinton Rogers died Sunday
morning of apoplexy at his home in Sandy
Hook. He was born in the same house
sixty-eight years ago. He served through
the civil war in the Forty-third regiment,
and delivered the oration at the dedication
of the Slocum Monument at Gettysburg in
1903.
