GENERAL WINSLOW
DIED SATURDAY
Watertown Loses One of
Her First Citizens--Had
an Eventful Career.
General Bradley Winslow, one of the
best known veterans of the Civil War,
died Saturday afternoon at the City
Hospital in Watertown, aged 83. For
over half a century he was a leader
among men in the North Coutry. He
commanded two regiments in the late
rebellion, was Mayor of Watertown,
and had served as State Senator.
General Winslow was born, Aug. 1,
1831 near the city of Watertown, and
he spent practically his entire life in
Jefferson county.
As an attorney he was among the
best, as a soldier he never sent his
men where he would not go himself
and as a citizen Watertown has lost
one of her best.
